My saddle turned out great

Dear Eric and everyone at Steele Saddle that helped to make my saddle,

I received my saddle, and of course I was expecting this really great trail saddle I had pictured in my mind, but I have to tell you I didn’t even come close to how great it turned out! I think that is the greatest looking saddle I have ever seen! I am so happy with it I wanted to write and tell you all how much I appreciate the time and work and knowledge you all have to put together a saddle like that. I also want to thank you for being patient with me and making sure it was right for me and my horse. I really love the leather you used on the seat ,and how well it is formed. You are so right on how it keeps you from slipping around in it. The color is perfect, and it is light enough for me to easily lift . I have been showing
it off ever since.

Unfortunately we had a lot of snow and then it poured down rain, melting the snow, so it has been flooding around here lately so I will have to wait a while to get some good use out of it. It’s alright though, I am saving all my vacation days so when it clears I’ll be ready!

I can’t thank you all enough! Sincerely Sharon Johnson and Tuck

This is the first saddle out of 15 my horse has loved

My horse LOVES this Steele saddle, this is the first saddle out of 15 saddles in 4 years that he’s loved. He gaited nicely today and collected properly for the first time. I have never seen him go so well and not get irritated with horses behind him. Even my friends that trail ride with us commented how “happy’ he looked.

I liked it too, I finally stay centered, and can give good leg cues. I have really bad rheumatoid arthritis and hip replacement and many other joint replacements, and it was lightweight enough for me to handle. Just my seat bones hurt. Also, because I stayed centered, I didn’t get the usual back ache.

I really want one with a horn. Do you have anything in stock?  Anne-Marie

I think you’ve built the perfect tree

My equine vet gave his approval with the recommendation to move the D ring
forward. There’s no bridging and he liked the extra foam placement.

Rode for an hour late this evening, I love the fit!!!! No issues with
fitting me and my horse was great, energetic, responsive, worked well in all
gaits – walk, jog, extended trot and canter. I like the secure fit and close
contact feel of the saddle.  Even imprint on the saddle pad and even sweat marks.

I plan a longer ride in the morning and will send pictures on Monday (home
Internet is too slow).  I think you’ve built us the perfect tree!

Thank you,  Kellie DeMary

I was very comfortable and secure in the saddle

The saddle seems to fit my horse well.  I took a two hour ride and took pictures as soon as I came home.  Let me know if you need more or closer pictures.  I was VERY COMFORTABLE and SECURE in the saddle.  I have a lesson Saturday Aug. 18th.  I would like to use it for that lesson and send it back to you on Monday the 20th.  Let me know if you need anything else as I would like to order.  Nancy

Thank you for helping my friends,

I gave your website to Aly Stratton (Washington) and her trainer, Thea (Colorado,) and their friend Cheryl Ann, (Washington)

I found out today, that Aly and her hubby both are ordering saddles and Thea called me yesterday to thank me.  She told me she talked to you for an hour and she never met anyone who understood the foxtrotter like you do – kudos, I am very happy for you.

I think mine is pretty good, but I want one more ride to check out the front.   I will be sending it back shortly.  Thanks for all your help and for helping out my friends.

Anne

The more I ride this tree / saddle the more I love it,

Today (Sunday) was so beautiful that Sue and I were able to go out for a ride this evening.  I have two morning services and currently don’t have an evening service.  I pressed down on the back of the seat and reached under with my hand and ran my fingers under and I can’t find any place where the bars were sitting wrong.  Sue didn’t either.  I am trying not to cinch the girth as tightly.  Dixie and I had a really nice ride this evening and I was firmer with her about having her following my cues.

The more I ride in this tree / saddle the more I love it!  I am so comfortable and sitting up straight.  I don’t feel nearly as tense as I did in my other one.  You asked me to tell you about anything that seemed uncomfortable or as if it wasn’t fitting / feeling right.  I can’t tell you anything at the moment.  You wanted me to take my time so I’ll ride it a few more weeks and then we can get together on completing the saddle.  By the way Dixie has lost a little bit of weight.  Sue believes it’s because the field which had Pearl Mullet in it is done and she’s about to plant rye grass in it.  She’s also giving her just a tiny bit of feed ( I was wrong it wasn’t sweet feed but a pellet feed.)  At present I have a high port bit coming in, I’m looking at the Myler bits, that might be down the road if I continue to have issues.

First is my new saddle!  I appreciate all your time and attention, and your desire to craft the best saddle for the horse and rider.  Such attention to quality, detail and craftsmanship are hard to come by in today’s world.  I’ll continue to give you updates as I ride.
