Bandy Creek with my new custom Steele Platinum Plantation Saddle,

Riding my custom trail saddle by Steele which is their new… Platinum Plantation seat with horn featuring hand tooling, sewn buffalo hide chocolate seat, leather wrapped stirrups, and silver conchos.  It is beautiful on the trails and even those sad days when it is in the trailer.    It has been a pleasure to work with this team in getting my saddles and in creating their website for them.  Just good people.

Best saddle you can straddle.

This is the best saddle you can straddle! I had this custom Steele trail saddle made and the people there were GREAT. I love it!! Thanks everyone at Steele Saddles for taking such great care in making the saddle I wanted. I finally got the picture posted for you.

When they guarantee their saddles, they mean it!

Thank you to Fred of Steele Trail Saddles for the replacement brass ‘D’ rings for my saddle.  I needed one, he sent me four.   With stout colts to start, spares might be a good idea……Pop went the ‘D’ ring.

I have had my saddle for about 8 or 9 years now I think. He had to go back and check the style of D ring that was used on it, after I sent a picture, and matched it.  When they say they guarantee their saddles, they mean it.indianamike_nindianamike111_nindianamike Michael Murray, (Indiana Mike)

1,000 thanks to Steele Saddle,

Here’s some excitement coming up. Fred and Eric so kindly agreed to make a plantation saddle adapted to my special riding needs – I’m a para equestrian, and literally ride by the seat of my pants – i.e. very little leg use, means I’ve developed a truck and seat that use a lot of ti chi kinda balance.
That can be so enhanced by the deep seat and contour of the cantle and by some cool additions to my pommel on the plantation model – it will have metal hand grabs on either side, because however great of a horse, and balanced of a seat I might have, there’s always the unexpected ! LOL – and on steep or rough terrain, knowing I have sturdy grips at 3 O’Clock and 9 O’Clock on the pommel means I can push my butt firmly in the seat and go into wilderness, I couldn’t other wise see.
Fred’s even making the skirts after the beautiful shapes of Ladies’s astride saddles of days gone by. Can’t wait to have it and pictures are forthcoming. The design is something that might appeal to able bodied (but middle aged) endurance riders who want to ensure their seat on rugged stretches – or one of these para saddles would be a fabulous gift to any therapeutic riding programs you support.
1000 thanks to the Steele Saddle for making this happen for me. It means the world ! Kathy

Racking Horses, Steele Saddle

Great horses with phenomenal speed.  These two racking horses were resting at the Cumberland Trail Head in Big South Fork, Tennessee with Steele trail saddles.  A true testimonial to comfort on the trail.

Thank you for choosing Steele Trail Saddles and happy trails to you.
